Sirius

First things first. I want to give props to Jeff Smith whose own blog made me want to create one myself, so thanks Jeff. Let me just say that I am in love with Sirius radio, it is "the sickness". Especially living in Ketchikan where good local radio must be illegall or something because all the stations are absolute dross. Actually K-Love is okay but I haven't heard it come through clearly on any radio ever. Also they tend to play the same songs a lot, and they don't show any love to the old school guys like Keith Green or Larry Norman or any of the other pioneers. Would it kill K-love to play a little Phil Keaggy once in a while, the guy's one of the worlds best guitarists, one of the most prolific and consistent christian song writers (over 30 albums) yet he never gets any (K) love. It's mostly one hit wonder type groups with numbers in their name, like tree 63 or building 429.

Hey David, Nice site! I saw you gave credit to Jeff. That's cool. I totally agree with you about Ktown radio and K-love. A lot of over-produced music with not a whole lot of originality or content. Anyway, I am mostly writing to say I am super excited about you and Jenn buying a house and getting married! Congratulations on both. I'm looking forward to being there for the big day. Tell Jenn she's the greatest :)

Which is why my next band will be called Smith 411. Totally bling and it'll get lots of air time. Nice blog.

Hi! My name is Tim DeMoss. I’m a disc jockey from Pennsylvania and am in the process of writing Larry Norman’s biography. While I have a lot of material from interviews, time spent with Larry, and so forth, I believe a great way to tell his story is to invite others (like yourself) to share their stories of Larry as well. I did a “Yahoo” search, and your link was one of those listed, so I wanted to extend the invitation to you to contribute. Personal interactions, concert experiences, how his music affected you and your friends/family, rumors you may have heard, questions you may have—those are all examples of how you might participate.

The details and background are at www.thelarrynormanstory.com. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Please also feel free to forward this on to anyone you believe would a) like to submit their thoughts or questions or b) simply be made aware of the biography’s progress and completion.

Thanks very much!

Sincerely,

Tim DeMoss

P.S. I consult for Sirius 67, Revolution (the harder rock Christian channel), so we have a double connection going :)
