Yummy Breakfast

Jenn and I both have Fridays off, and it's our tradition to go out to breakfast, so you might say I am highly experienced at eating breakfast. If you go out to breakfast in Ketchikan then go to the Narrows and have "the deckhand" and you can thank me later. Seriously, they put it on the menu because of my suggestion on the little survey card. All you really need to know is that the breakfast comes on three plates. It has the eggs the bacon the sausage the hasbrowns the buttermilk pancakes and the toast. It'll take approximately 8 days off your life span but it takes the landing out behind the barn and gives it a beat down.

World Cup

The world cup started yesterday so if you are looking for me chances are I'll be in front of the TV. England played their first game today, and let me say that while they won the game 1-0 the performance was abysmal. Ashley Cole managed to give the ball away about 5 times simply by falling over with no pressure from the other team, he's supposed to be the best left back in the world but if he walked in here right now, he wouldn't be the best left back in this room. The ESPN commentators are shocking aswell. The lead guy called David Beckham "David Beckett" even my wife knows who Beckham is, The color commentator said Beckham would move to center midfield for the next world cup because it will mean less running as he gets older. First Beckham won't even be at the next world cup, he'll be 34 by then, too old. Second, anyone who knows anything about football know noone runs more than a center midfielder. I realize that no one reading this probably cares about the world cup but I had to get it off my chest. The England managers substitutions were stunnigly bad, I actually gasped out loud at some of his moves. England will get through to the next round but unless they improve they are going out in the quaterfinals.

Bear

Last night during the young adults meeting, which is at our house, I looked out of the window and was shocked to see a bear ambling up our driveway. I didn't say anything because the meeting was going on but then it walked around to the back of the house and someone saw it and said "is that a bear?" at which everyone jumped up and ran over to the window. It wasn't a very big one I don't think, probably 150 pounds maybe, I think I could've taken it. I know the Bensons saw a few bears while they lived here, so I don't expect it to be the last one I see around the house, that's one of the cool things about living in Alaska, that's not happening anywhere else. Jenn has the camera so I didn't get a picture. Jenn is out of town by the way, she left on Wed to go see Allison grauduate high school. It's bachelor time around here for a few days, I have a steak on deck for tonight and I am heading over to Helen's for lunch.
